A three picture collage of some of the top posts from the year with the words Top 10 of 2024 in the middle.

Oh there is nothing I love more than looking back at the year to see how far the website has come.

This was a banner year for My Life After Dairy and I truly cannot thank each of you enough for visiting the site, trying the recipes, and sharing your experiences with a dairy-free lifestyle.

Just a few quick thank you’s before we get into the good stuff.

  • To my family, thank you for supporting this dream of creating comforting, dairy-free recipes that make it just a little easier for others to go dairy-free.
  • My children’s school for the loving care of my children as well as the time and space to grow while I test, photograph, edit, and write the content here.
  • The staff at Piedmont Colosseum for eating all of the test batches and final recipes so that I do not waste any of the deliciousness.
  • You, the readers who come and try the recipes time and time again. While I would still be cooking dairy-free recipes at home you bring me back to the kitchen time and time again to make something new, delicious, and dairy-free.

I normally take stock of the data about the site and simply share with you the top performing posts of the year but I wanted to take a minute to look at some of the stats from behind the scenes.

Food Photography in 2024

I recently took stock of the change in my photography and editing skills from the start of the year to now. During this year I transitioned from shooting with natural light to shooting with artificial light.

After taking Artificial Academy through The Bite Shot, I felt confident to make the switch and I couldn’t be more happy with the freedom it affords my family.

With toddlers comes unpredictable schedules, inconsistent nap times, and not to mention scheduling around the weather. By switching to artificial light I have been able to keep a more consistent shooting schedule and can even photograph recipes after I get the kids to bed.

Noticeable Post Updates in 2024

As the years add up here on My Life After Dairy I started looking at some of the posts I published my first few years and gave a few of them the “glow up” they desperately needed.

Thanks to a more consistent shooting schedule I was able to update 11 old posts with new photos, helpful information about the ingredients, and update their recipe cards.
