Vegan Birthday Cake Overnight Oats
Sweeten up your morning routine with these filling and flavorful Vegan Birthday Cake Overnight Oats. Made with vanilla vegan protein powder and a handful of pantry staple ingredients, these overnight oats make the perfect treat for any day.
With the weather warming up, my desire to crank on the oven and stove are hitting an all time low. Unfortunately this doesn’t change the fact that despite my lack of interest in cooking a warm meal, my family still wants to eat.
To rectify this issue I have been working on ways to make meals without the stove and oven to keep my kitchen cool and reduce the number of dishes I am standing over the sink cleaning after each meal.
Some of the heavy hitters making the rounds in our kitchen include air fryer egg bites, cereal (classic), and overnight oats. From peanut butter based to sprinkle studded our kitchen has seen them all!
Why We Love Birthday Cake Overnight Oats
These sweet and flavor packed overnight oats make the perfect busy morning treat. Simply whip up a batch the night before and enjoy the fruits of your very minimal labor the next morning. Some other reasons we make these birthday cake overnight oats on repeat include:
- Flavorful– The almond extract gives these overnight oats a cake like flavor and the boost of rainbow sprinkles makes them a fun treat everyone will enjoy.
- Protein Packed– An added boost of vanilla protein powder keeps these vegan overnight oats filling for your busy mornings.
- Easy– No fancy steps here, simply mix and chill for the ultimate treat.
Vegan Changes to Overnight Oats
There are two ingredients you will want to keep in mind when you make these vegan overnight oats.
- Vegan Vanilla Protein Powder– Make sure you are using a plant-based protein powder. I used Orgain’s Vanilla Protein for this recipe.
- Non-Dairy Milk– Any plant-based milk works well in this recipe. Personally I used almond milk to keep the calories lower but whatever you have on hand should do the trick!
How to Make Vegan Birthday Cake Overnight Oats
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Non-dairy milk– I used almond milk in this recipe but any unflavored non-dairy milk you prefer works well.
- Almond butter– Adds a boost of healthy fat and creaminess to the overnight oats. You can also use cashew butter if you want, just a mild flavored nut butter to add some creaminess.
- Almond extract– Just a splash of almond extract gives these birthday cake overnight oats that cakey flavor.
- Oatmeal– I suggest using old fashioned oats. They will hold their shape better in the soaking process.
- Chia seeds– For a little fiber and filler.
- Protein Powder– A vegan vanilla protein powder, like Orgain’s Vanilla Protein, works great!
- Rainbow Sprinkles– The tube/rod shaped sprinkles work best. I would avoid using nonpareils as they don’t hold their color and will result in a color bled mess.
