Methods for Preparation

Campfire S’mores

Build a fire in your fire pit/ campfire area. Once the fire is well established you are ready to begin the s’more making.

  • Place a large marshmallow on a roasting stick.
  • Slowly turn your marshmallow over the fire (or in the fire if that is your jam).
  • Once lightly golden and puffy, transfer the marshmallow to your chocolate topped graham cracker.
  • Add any spreads to the second half of the graham cracker and smash the two sides together and enjoy!

Air Fryer S’mores

No fire pit? No problem. You can easily make your own s’mores in the air fryer. Here are the steps we use to roast our large marshmallows in the air fryer.

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
  • Once preheated place half of a sheet of a graham cracker in the air fryer basket. Top with 1 large marshmallow and cook for 3 minutes.
  • While the marshmallow cooks, prepare the other half of the graham cracker with toppings and chocolate.
  • The marshmallow will probably pop off the graham cracker, use small tongs to lift the marshmallow back on the graham cracker half, then use a spatula to remove the graham cracker with marshmallow out of the air fryer.
  • Put the marshmallow topped graham cracker together with the chocolate topped graham cracker and enjoy.

Microwave S’mores

The quickest method for making a s’more is to use the microwave. This method is perfect if you are making s’mores individually or for a small group of people.

  • Place half a graham cracker on a microwave safe plate.
  • Top with chocolate square.
  • Put a large marshmallow on top of the chocolate square.
  • Heat in the microwave for about 20 seconds (until the marshmallow puffs up).
  • If you plan to add any spreads such as peanut butter, cookie butter, or chocolate hazelnut spread place the spread on the second half of the graham cracker.
  • Remove from microwave and top with second half of a graham cracker.

Oven Baked S’mores

I would suggest using this method when you are serving a crowd and don’t have access to a fire pit.

  • Preheat the oven to broil, high.
  • Place half of a graham cracker on a lined cookie sheet.
  • Top the graham cracker with a square of chocolate.
  • Place a large marshmallow on top.
  • Place the cookie sheet into the middle of the oven and broil on high for 1-2 minutes. 1:30 seems to be a good sweet spot.
  • Remove from oven.
  • If you plan to add any spreads such as peanut butter, cookie butter, or chocolate hazelnut spread place the spread on the second half of the graham cracker.
  • Place the second half of the graham cracker on top of the marshmallow side and enjoy!
