Country Crock Plant Cream Review

Country Crock Plant Cream is a non-dairy replacement for heavy whipping cream. Read on to learn some of the pros, cons, and uses for this dairy-free heavy cream replacement in my personal review of this heavy whipping cream alternative.

When it comes to going dairy-free, there are a number of resources out there for getting started and a growing variety of items on the market to try. The amount of new products cropping up might leave you feeling overwhelmed with new and different things to try.

Country Crock Plant Cream is a non-dairy alternative to heavy whipping cream. Made with plant-based ingredients this plant cream works well in both sweet and savory recipe.

This product is a gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan product that is also Non-GMO and certified Kosher and Halal.

When used as a heavy cream alternative, Country Crock’s Plant Cream works with a 1:1 ratio, meaning for each cup you use of traditional heavy cream you would substitute 1 cup of this vegan plant cream.

Country Crock Plant Cream Pros

Personally I feel like this plant-based heavy whipping cream alternative has more pros than cons making it a great addition to your dairy-free kitchen.

Some of the positives about this vegan heavy cream include:

  • Long shelf-life before opening (lasts about 9 months)
  • Neutral flavor profile allows it to work in sweet and savory recipes

  • Comes in small packaging so you don’t waste as much

Country Crock Plant Cream Cons

Like many non-dairy products on the market, this dairy-free heavy whipping cream alternative has a few cons to consider when adding it to your kitchen.

  • Updated recipe contains coconut oil which doesn’t work well for tree-nut/coconut allergies
  • Short shelf-life. Once opened this product lasts about 5 days.

Uses for Country Crock’s Plant Cream Heavy Whipping Cream Alternative

This vegan heavy cream alternative has a neutral palate which makes it perfect in both sweet and savory recipes. Some dishes I have used the heavy whipping cream to replace oat milk and other thicker non-dairy milks include:

How to Make Plant-Based Whipped Cream

The Country Crock Plant Cream package includes a recipe for vegan whipped cream using their plant cream.

I followed the recipe to a T and found the whipped cream alternative held up well, wasn’t overly sweet, and made a great substitution for heavy cream.

Here’s how to make plant-based whipped cream with Country Crock Plant Cream:

  • Fit a stand or hand mixer with a whisk attachment.
  • In the bowl, beat together plant cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar.
  • Beat on high about 2-3 minutes or until stiff peaks form.
  • I scraped the sides down once and continued beating to make sure the ingredients were throughly mixed.

Store whipped topping in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

With 3 ingredients you can make a light and fluffy bowl of vegan whipped topping using country crock's plant cream as the base.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Plant Cream chilled
  • ¼ cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla

Instructions

  1. Fit a stand or hand mixer with a whisk attachment.

  2. In the bowl, beat together 2 cups chilled plant cream, 2 teaspoons vanilla, and ¼ cup powdered sugar.

  3. Beat on high about 2-3 minutes or until stiff peaks form.

  4. I scraped the sides down once and continued beating to make sure the ingredients were throughly mixed.
