I am pretty sure there aren’t too many people who actually read this section of my posts (or probably any paragraph in these blog post…) but if you do find yourself skimming this portion of the post I need to lay some things bare for you.

I have decided that this is the year I show up day after day, week after week to do the things I love doing most- sharing dairy-free recipes, spending more time outside than on screens- especially with my kids, and honestly just finishing what I say I am going to do.

That said, last night I went to a midnight release for Onyx Storm (poor planning and maternity brain left me without a preordered copy and the only logical solution was to go get a copy at midnight…). It is currently snowing in middle Georgia. And to top it all of my kids and I are all sick.

So in an effort to show up in the other areas of my life that I value, I vowed not to read the new book (and thus avoid all social media) until this weekend.

But as I tell you about the forces wanting to draw me away from the computer screen the one thing that keeps pulling me back is knowing that this recipe is too damn good for you to not have this weekend.

Why We Love these Bacon Wrapped Pigs in a Blanket

Fun fact: bacon wrapped over little smokies, sprinkled with seasoned brown sugar, baked then wrapped in crescent rolls and baked again yields one highly addictive snack.

We are obsessed with these pigs in a blanket because of the:

  • Seasoned bacon. The seasoned brown sugar topping that coats the bacon is out of your mind delicious!
  • Sweet + savory goodness. The salty bacon and little smokies are balanced out with the seasoned brown sugar coating.
  • Kolache-like vibe. I am always craving a kolache and these bacon wrapped pigs in a blanket are the closest I have come in a while to a good kolache (aside from making my own at home).

How to Make Seasoned Bacon Wrapped Pigs in a Blanket

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Bacon– I think the regular cut bacon works better in this recipe than the thick cut bacon for wrapping around the little smokies.
  • Little Smokies– You can use the pork or beef little smoky sausages.
  • Brown Sugar Topping– A mix of brown sugar, garlic powder, and ground pepper top the bacon wrapped sausages.
