Last Updated on January 1, 2021 by Annie
Before we get too deep into what a year 2020 has been I would like to take a moment to thank each of you who has taken the time to read a post, try a recipe, or just check out the site. I am beyond grateful to get to share my dairy-free life and recipes with each and every one of you.
Without a doubt this year has been one for the books. From a cross country move to a global pandemic to a kitchen renovation, 2020 could not have been more unusual. With everything going on this year one thing was clear, baking and trying new things in the kitchen brought us all a little closer together. So without further ado, here are the Top 10 posts from My Life After Dairy for the year 2020.
10. Chocolate Dipped Graham Crackers
Long socially distanced lines at Trader Joes prompted the making of these chocolate dipped treats. This Trader Joe’s copy cat recipe makes the perfect snack! Small bites of graham cracker are dipped into a melted mixture of dark chocolate and coconut oil then sprinkled with flaky sea salt. Now that you can make them at home, you will never have to wait in the line to get you fix of these at TJ’s again.
9. Mexican Street Corn Dip
There are truly so many “before” and “after” moments from 2020. This Mexican Street Corn Dip falls in the “before” times. We made it to top insanely loaded nachos at one of our last social dinners before going into full lockdown mode. This addictively delicious dip has all the flavor of elote, without any dairy!
8. Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls
These amazing banana bread cinnamon rolls came to my dairy-free kitchen in the first rounds of the Pandemic. We somehow ended up with a million bananas (online ordering issues anyone??) and needed to find a great use for them. Bursting with delicious banana bread flavor, these cinnamon rolls are sure to please!
7. Turkey Enchiladas
Eating in this year meant making a lot of dishes we would normally get out. Since most Mexican restaurants make dairy filled enchiladas we needed a batch that satisfy all my Tex-Mex cravings without any of the dairy. These Ground Turkey Enchiladas fit the bill.
6. Sausage and Egg Kolaches
Oh my favorite Texas breakfast! There is no wonder why these savory, tender beauties made the top 10 list of 2020. These Sausage and Egg Kolaches truly are the perfect breakfast recipe and seem to be made most frequently on the weekends.
5. Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread
Did you even quarantine if you didn’t make banana bread this year??? From my mother to my sister to the people I have met in Georgia, this Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread recipe truly is a hit! Packed with banana, loaded with an addictive cinnamon sugar swirl, and ultra moist this banana bread recipe is a MUST make!
4. Red Beans and Rice
This was without a doubt the year for “pantry staple recipes” among the various recipes in this category we made this year these Red Beans and Rice topped the list. If you are looking for a flavorful and easy meal you will definitely want to check this recipe out!
3. Texas Caviar
This just might be the oldest, healthiest recipe I make. Packed with fresh veggies, beans, and coated in a delightful cilantro and lime dressing this Texas Caviar recipe makes the perfect dip to take to your summer pot lucks and BBQ’s just be sure to bring a serving spoon!
2. Taco Lunch Bowls
Say hello to my favorite meal prep recipe OF. ALL. TIME. I have a Tupperware of it in my fridge right now and make it at least once a month, it’s that easy and delicious. This Turkey Taco Lunch Bowl recipe was also featured on Making Sense of Cent’s 13 Salad Meal Prep Ideas back in October.
1. Snickerdoodle Cookie Bars
These beauties went viral on Pinterest back in October and they have been the top recipe on the site since! You can quickly and easily make these Snickerdoodle Cookie Bars in one bowl and believe me when I tell you these tender, lightly sweet cookie bars will be the best thing to grace your kitchen this year!
