2024 Christmas Cookie Box
Say hello to the 2024 Christmas Cookie Box. Packed with easy to prep in advance cookies like peppermint chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodle cookie bars, this holiday cookie box is sure to please.
It’s that time of year when cookie baking is at an all time high and having a box filled with flavorful and festive cookies just feels right.
Each year I send out a little Christmas Cookie box to some of my family and friends. Some cookies you will find in the box this year are tried and true classics while others are new to the site and ready to become family favorites in your home too.
A Quick Note About the Cookie Box
The holiday cookie box is not meant to be a huge stress. Make it what you want to make it. Mix your box with cookies or no-bake treats like 5-minute fudge or peppermint bark.
This year I went with low key, easy to make in advance cookies. I made a batch of cookie dough a day and stuck it in the freezer until I was ready to bake and ship these cookies out.
Why? I have a 3 year old and a 2 year old and the time to roll, cut, and ice cookies (lookin at you McKay’s Sugar Cookies) just wasn’t there. Maybe next year…
DAIRY-FREE Ingredients for CHRISTMAS COOKIES
When it comes to making these delicious cookies dairy-free there were two main ingredients to keep in mind.
- Plant-Based Butter– The base of many cookies uses a plant-based butter. I have found success time and time again with Country Crock’s Plant Based Butter sticks.
- Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips– For those chocolate studded cookies, here are a few different chocolate chips I have tried and liked.
The 2024 Cookie Box Line Up
Whipped Vegan Shortbread Cookies
These simple shortbread cookies are making their My Life After Dairy debut this holiday season. Whipped to a fluffy finish and sprinkled with festive red, green, and pink sprinkles, these vegan cookies are one you will want to share with all of your family and friends.

Magic Cookie Bars
Up next in the holiday cookie box is a recipe that might be more bar than cookie but they make an excellent addition to the cookie box for a number of reasons.
- They are a tray bake. You can whip up a whole batch of these cookie bars in one pan with only one round of baking.
- Premade ingredients. With the exception of the crust everything else is pretty much just thrown in the pan as is making the prep very minimal.
- So flavorful. You get hints of the graham cracker, chocolate, coconut, and pecan in every bite. There is a variety of flavors and textures making this cookie bar a magical treat.

Peppermint Chocolate Chip Cookies
I don’t think I will ever make it through another Christmas season without making these Peppermint Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are the fun and festive take on a traditional chocolate chip cookie with just a hint of peppermint extract and the added bonus of crushed candy cane.
These holiday cookies made their first appearance on My Life After Dairy last holiday season and they were a much anticipated cookie in our house this year.

Cowboy Cookies
I had a reader email a few questions about this cowboy cookie recipe at the beginning of the month and it reminded me just how much I love making these cookies.
The oldest published cookie recipe in the box, these dairy-free cowboy cookies are packed with cinnamon, pecan, oats, and chocolate chips. My only regret with this deeply satisfying cookie is that I did not dip the base in chocolate.
Note to future me. I want to dip or glaze the bottom of the cookie in melted dark chocolate. I think it would just take these cookies over the edge of perfection.

Snickerdoodle Cookie Bars
Another tray bake and THE most baked cookie recipe on this site, these soft and tender Snickerdoodle Cookie Bars are sure to be a hit on any holiday dessert tray.
Some of the reasons I think you should highly consider making a batch of these Snickerdoodle Cookie Bars include:
- Pantry Staple Ingredients: I would be willing to bet my morning cup of coffee on the fact you already have what you need to make these cookie bars sitting in your kitchen.
- No rolling, dipping, or scooping. The dough is pressed into a pan and baked to cinnamon-sugar kissed perfection.
- No mixer needed. The batch I made for the cookie boxes I simply used a rubber spatula. As long as the vegan butter is soft, you can whip these up with just a little elbow grease.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
For the final cookie is the 2024 Christmas Cookie Box, I have included a cookie that is sure to be a chocolate lovers dream.
A rich chocolate base, studded with dark chocolate chips, and sprinkled with some flaky sea salt, these chocolate chocolate chip cookies do not disappoint.

How to Ship a Holiday Cookie Box
Once you have your cookies selected and baked, here are some tips for wrapping and shipping to get them on their way.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely before wrapping and packing.
- Find cookies of similar size to wrap together.
- Place the cookies back to back and then wrap in plastic wrap.
- Secure wrapped cookies with tape.
- Place the cookies in a tin or box lined with tissue paper to reduce the amount of movement when shipping.
- Pick a shipping company you know and trust to get your goodies there in a timely manner.
