2023 Christmas Cookie Box
Get ready to treat your loved ones to a deliciously dairy-free cookie box this holiday season. Made with six different dairy-free cookies, this Christmas cookie box is sure to be enjoyed by all.
I’m very excited to share this year’s holiday cookie box with you! I know we are cutting it close to Christmas but each of these cookies whip up quickly and can easily be enjoyed all winter long!
While picking cookies for my holiday cookie box I like to try a few new recipes and lean on a few of my tried and true. This way I don’t have to worry about lots of new recipes plus I know the recipients will enjoy seeing some of their favorites from years past.
I also enjoy mixing flavors. While I know chocolate tends to be the dominating flavor adding in a nice ginger or sugar cookie balances out some of the rich chocolaty goodness.
Why We Love a Holiday Cookie Box
- Makes a delicious and thoughtful gift. I think gift giving has gone way off track from the original intention and become an over commercialized and monetized exchange of things. (I’ll step away from the soap box and back to the cookie box…) A cookie box is something that takes a little time but comes from the heart.
- Extra cookies! Unlike buying gifts this cookie box gifts you the benefit of some extra cookies to enjoy throughout the season.
- Family activity. Growing up my family would work together to make fantasy fudge and chocolate dipped pretzels to share with our friends and teachers. This cookie box can easily become a baking day for the whole family!
Dairy-Free Changes to Christmas Cookies
When it comes to making these delicious cookies dairy-free there were two main ingredients to keep in mind.
- Plant-Based Butter– The base of many cookies uses a plant-based butter. I have found success time and time again with Country Crock’s Plant Based Butter sticks.
- Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips– For those chocolate studded cookies, here are a few different chocolate chips I have tried and liked.

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
An annual addition to my holiday cookie box, these chocolate crinkle cookies are a Christmas staple.
Coated in powdered sugar and baked to a soft finish, these chocolate cookies are sure to be a hit for all of the chocolate lovers on your cookie list.
One of the reasons I love to include these cookies in the annual holiday cookie box is because they package and ship so well. To prepare them for shipping:
- Allow the cookies to cool completely.
- Find two that are similar in size.
- Place them back to back (the flat sides together).
- Wrap them in plastic wrap and seal with tape.
Soft Ginger Cookies
Delicious molasses cookies spiced with ginger and coated in sugar, these soft ginger cookies make a delightful addition to your holiday cookie box.
This simple cookie dough is great for rolling and freezing in advance, bakes beautifully, and keeps in an air-tight container for up to 5 days.
I think these chewy cookies pair perfectly with a warm cup of coffee, a good holiday movie, and a cozy blanket.
