After demolishing a batch of Oreo truffles I knew I needed to re-stock my freezer with another batch that would match the Halloween season perfectly. Enter these Monster Oreo Truffles.

With a little creativity (read: sprinkles, food dye, and monster eyes) you can take your average Oreo truffle up a notch and make them perfect for all the ghouls and goblins in your life.

Why We Love these Monster Oreo Truffles

You don’t have to twist my arm to get me to make a batch of these Oreo truffle balls, but if you need a little more encouragement, here are a few of my top reasons we love these monster truffles.

  • Adorable. From the monster eyes to the sweet bats, these are too cute to pass on this Halloween.
  • Kid-friendly. These can easily be made for kids, with kids, or by kids at heart!
  • No-bake. Simply crush, mix, scoop, roll, and dip to make these delightful Oreo balls.
  • Forgiving. Did you smudge the chocolate? Break something off the ball while transferring it to a plate? Chalk it up to the Halloween spirit and embrace the character of the balls.

How to Make Halloween Oreo Truffles

The base of these Monster Truffle Balls starts with my vegan Oreo truffle ball recipe.

  • Make cookie crumbs: In a blender or a food processor, pulse Oreo cookies into crumbs.
  • Pour cookie crumbs into a bowl.
  • Mix together: Add the softened vegan cream cheese to the crumbs and mix until smooth.
  • Scoop + roll: Using a 1 Tablespoon sized measuring spoon or scoop, scoop and roll the mixture into balls.
  • Chill the balls: Place the balls on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and refrigerate 30 minutes.
  • Smooth out the truffles: Roll the balls again to smooth out any bumps.
