Daiya Key Lime Cheezecake is a plant-based frozen dessert made by Daiya. Read about the nutritional information, a general taste test, and what we like and dislike about this tart frozen Cheezecake alternative.

After the massive hit with the Kind Frozen Treat Bars I found myself wandering the frozen foods aisle again when I stumbled upon this dairy-free key lime cheesecake.
Having tried other Daiya products before I felt comfortable picking up one of their pre-made desserts. Read on to learn about this simple dairy-free dessert alternative, what ingredients make it up, and how it stacked up to our taste test.
Please note that these are not products sent to me or items I will earn any commissions on for the review. Simply put, this is a dairy-free product I tried, liked, and could see myself using time and again.
What is the Daiya Key Lime Cheezecake?
Daiya has been making dairy-free products since the company founded in 2007. They expanded the line from shredded cheese to additional products in 2017 and then re-designed their shredded cheese recipe in 2023.
The 2017 product expansion included cheese blocks, cream cheese, frozen pizzas, and a line of frozen desserts including:
- New York Cheezecake
- Key Lime Cheezecake
- Strawberry Cheezecake
- Chocolate Cheezecake
- Pumpkin Spice Cheezecake

My local grocery store currently only stocks the Key Lime variety, which is why I am only reviewing the Key Lime flavor in this review.

Daiya Key Lime Cheezecake Taste Test

Now on to the taste test. The Key Lime Cheezecake needed to thaw in the fridge for about 5 hours before being sliced and then served at roughly room temperature 20 minutes after slicing.
My overall thoughts on the cheezecake alternative include:
- The texture was very similar in look and mouth feel to a traditional cheesecake.
- The lime flavor was subtle and I felt could be stronger.
- Crust lacks the flavor of a graham cracker crumb. I think I maybe got one bite that had a fresh tasting crust.
- The aftertaste was a little grainy.
What We Like About Daiay’s Key Lime Cheezecake
I will say thins is a first for my product reviews, where I think I have more I disliked about the product than liked.
- I thought the texture was good.
- The packaging was simple to use and easy to remove the product from.
- Photographed nicely and I enjoyed styling/taking pictures of it.

What We Didn’t Like about Daiay’s Key Lime Cheezecake
The main issues I found with the Key Lime Cheezecake include:
- The flavor. The lime could have been a stronger flavor and the crust just didn’t taste like a graham cracker crust should.
- High calorie servings. For how small the slices were the calorie content was rather high.
- Short shelf life. With only 48 hours to consume the cheezecake after thawing and no-refreezing option you had to really want some cheezecake to get the most out of it.
- Massive list of processed ingredients. I felt like the ingredient list was highly processed and may inspire me to make my own key lime cheesecake at home instead.
Final Thoughts and Reflections on Daiay’s Key Lime Cheezecake
I wanted to like this product more than I actually did. The product left me feeling unexcited and I honestly procrastinated writing this review because I just don’t think it’s worth the money or calories.
