1 cup Water
1 cup Non-dairy Milk (I use oatmilk)
½ cup Grits
2 tablespoons Plant-Based Butter
½ teaspoon Salt
Instructions
In a medium saucepan heat 1 cup of non-dairy milk and 1 cup of water over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil.
Once boiling, whisk in ½ cup grits and reduce the heat to low.
Continue whisking, not constantly but do not leave them unattended, for about 5 minutes until thick and creamy. Whisk in 2 tablespoons butter and ½teaspoon salt and cook for about 3 more minutes.
Remove from heat and serve. Add additional plant-based butter, salt, and toppings as desired. See serving suggestions below for additional topping ideas.
