Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a wonderful plan to celebrate with your family and loved ones. This Thanksgiving, I have been fortunate to spend time with both. As well as the wonderful staff from United Airlines.

Now, this recipe has been in my family for as long as I know. And for many years, in addition to the deviled eggs, my mom also brought the cranberry sauce to our holiday celebrations.

We all know this can be quite the controversial dish, some people are all about fresh made cranberry sauce while others prefer to use canned. Recently I learned of a third group – people who use the canned cranberry sauce without retaining the can shape.

In my home there are two reasons to eat the cranberry sauce. It adds a nice acidic flavor to the turkey and stuffing. And because it so perfectly retains the shape of the can.

We are team canned cranberry and here is our family recipe.

Pro Tips for Making Canned Cranberry Sauce

-Purchase Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce.
-Place the FULL CAN in the refrigerator until you are ready to prepare your dish.
-Open the can from the bottom.
-Carefully shake the can until the jellied cranberry sauce falls out.
-If the Cranberry sauce gets stuck, run a butter knife around the edge of the can to help loosen the sauce from the can.
-Slice and enjoy.

SUPER PRO TIP FOR CRANBERRY SAUCE

If you are struggling to shake the beautiful, ruby jelly out of the can, simply stab a hole in the top of the can after opening. This releases the suction between the can and jelly and allows for the sweet release of the cranberry jelly.
