Bacon Wrapped Pigs in a Blanket

Seasoned brown sugar tops bacon wrapped little smokies in this wildly addictive bacon wrapped pigs in a blanket recipe.

Ingredients

  • 11 strips Bacon (sliced into thirds)
  • 32 Little Smokies (roughly a package)
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Pepper
  • 2 packages Crescent Roll Dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice 11 bacon strips into thirds.
  3. In a small mixing bowl stir together 2 Tablespoons brown sugar, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon ground pepper. Set aside.
  4. Wrap the little smokies with a 1/3 cut of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  5. Repeat with the remaining little smokies and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle bacon wrapped little smokies with the brown sugar mixture.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool about 5 minutes.
  9. While the bacon wrapped smokies are cooling, roll out the crescent dough.
  10. Using a knife or a pastry roller, cut each roll of dough into a 4×4 grid of rectangles. (See image)
  11. Remove the toothpick from the little smokies.
  12. Wrap each bacon wrapped sausage in a rectangle of crescent dough.
  13. Place on a new parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  14. Bake in two batches, 12 minutes per batch.
