Peppermint White Chocolate Dipped Oreos
Vegan peppermint white chocolate dipped Oreos topped with crushed candy cane make the perfect winter treat. This no bake recipe comes together with 5 simple ingredients and is perfect for snacking, sharing, and gifting.

The holiday season comes and goes so quickly that there just isn’t enough time to make or bake everything before it ends. For this reason, and maybe my obsession with all things mint chocolate, I think keeping the holiday flavors alive through January is more than acceptable.
With that in mind, I bring you a simple no bake treat that is perfect for the extra candy canes you might have on hand. These white chocolate dipped Oreos are topped with crushed candy cane and perfect for a cool winter’s night.
Why We Love Peppermint White Chocolate Dipped Oreos
You know I am a sucker for just about anything involving Oreos. Some of the main reasons we love to whip up these peppermint bark white chocolate Oreos include:
- No Bake. Keep your oven free for all of the sugar cookies, crinkle cookies, and snickerdoodles. This recipe is a simple as melt, dip, and top.
- Stores at room temperature. You can easily keep these addictive cookies in an air-tight container on the counter all season long!
- Great for gifting and sharing. These are perfect for stacking into a treat bag, placing in a coffee cup, and adding on a little note or gift card.

Dairy-Free Changes to White Chocolate Dipped Oreos
White chocolate dipped Oreos are usually made with candy melts or white almond bark. To make these treats dairy-free I used dairy-free white chocolate chips and some coconut oil.
- Dairy-Free White Chocolate Chips. I have a lot of strong feelings about dairy-free white chocolate chips and will only use ones I have used in the past. For this recipe I used Enjoy Life’s White Chocolate Chips.
- Coconut Oil. While not a change, using coconut oil to help thin out the dairy-free white chocolate chips is something you might not have considered using when making with a dairy-filled product like almond bark.
How to Make Peppermint White Chocolate Oreos
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Dairy-Free White Chocolate Chips– I like to use Enjoy Life white chocolate chips or King David White Chocolate chips when it comes to coating desserts in a white chocolate drizzle.
- Coconut Oil– Used to thin out the melted white chocolate chips for a smoother dip.
- Peppermint Extract– Adds a pop of mint to the chocolate coating.
- Candy Canes– Crushed for a little decoration at the end.
- Oreo Cookies– A fresh bag of regular Oreos will work perfectly in this recipe.

Step-by-Step Directions for Mint Chocolate Oreos
- Crush candy canes into small bite sized pieces and set aside.
- Make a double broiler using a small sauce pan and a glass bowl.
- Add chocolate + coconut oil: In the glass bowl add dairy-free white chocolate chips and 1 Tablespoon of coconut oil to start.
- Melt: Slowly stir the white chocolate with the coconut oil until melted smooth.
- Add the peppermint extract and stir until smooth.
- Dip an Oreo into the melted white chocolate and flip to coat both sides.

- Flip and shake: Using a fork, remove the Oreo from the peppermint white chocolate and tap the excess chocolate off.
- Transfer the mint chocolate dipped Oreo to a parchment paper and sprinkle with crushed candy cane.
- Repeat until you run out of Oreos or peppermint white chocolate.

Do I have to make a double broiler?
I am not usually one to suggest the harder route unless absolutely necessary. For this recipe I highly recommend the double broiler instead of microwaving because:
- The chocolate stays warm the whole time you are dipping.
- When you microwave, the chocolate seizes up as it cools meaning you have to heat more and it won’t be as smooth.
- You will have to use more coconut oil to smooth out the chocolate from the microwave which will lead to a less smooth texture for your final cookie.

How do I make a double broiler out of a saucepan and a glass bowl?
- To make a double broiler with a saucepan and a glass bowl you will first want to select a bowl that can nest into the saucepan without touching the bottom.
- Once you have a bowl that fits over the saucepan, fill the saucepan with enough water to cover the bottom but not touch the bowl above it.
- Turn the heat to low, the steam from the saucepan will heat the contents of the bowl to slowly melt the chocolate to a smooth consistency.
- You will want to avoid bringing the water to a rolling boil as the boiling water might pop and jostle the glass bowl above.

Helpful Kitchen Tools
When it comes to making these peppermint white chocolate dipped Oreo cookies there are a few kitchen tools you might want to have on hand.
- Glass bowls– These are great kitchen bowls that work well in the microwave, fridge, and even topping a saucepan for a homemade double broiler.
- Non-rimmed cookie sheet– Perfect for sliding a parchment paper full of dipped cookies on and into the freezer.
- Rubber spatula– Excellent for stirring melted chocolate in a glass bowl.
